Gluconeogenesis
Your body making the small amount of glucose it needs from protein and fat, so you do not need to eat sugar.
Gluconeogenesis is the process by which your liver makes glucose from non-carb sources like protein. It is the reason you do not need to eat any carbohydrate at all. Your body reliably supplies the small amount of glucose certain cells need, which is why the Proper Human Diet can be very low in carbs and still safe for most people.
